What is IMEI/NVRAM Data on Android Device
IMEI stands for nothing but International Mobile Station Equipment Identity and consists of 15 decimal digits and is a unique identification number for GSM, UMTS, and LTE devices. An IMEI number is useful for identifying valid devices, and every phone comes with an IMEI number, printed on the back just below the battery. NVRAM – Non-Volatile Random Access Memory is a type of memory that stores data such as WiFi and Bluetooth MAC address, baseband version, IMEI/MEID number, and other important information, so losing or damaging it can become a serious problem. if you wish to backup NVRAM partition from your Mediatek devices then the article for you, where I will walk You through the complete process of backup NVRAM on Mediatek MT68xx devices.

- ROM2box & require driver: Download
- SP flash tool
- Mediatek driver
How to backup NVRAM with Rom2Box
- Download & Install the Mediatek driver on your PC
- Now Install the USBDK driver on your PC
- Download & Run ROM2box.exe
- Click Mediatek/Firmware-Reader
- Mark NVRAM Option
- Click the ‘START’ button
- turn the phone OFF, Now Keep Pressing both the volume Up + down keys & Insert USB
- one device detected You will see a backup Process, Once done Disconnect the device & switch it ON
How to backup NVRAM with SP FLASH TOOL:
Step 1- Now first you have to Install MTK drivers on your PC. If you have already installed drivers to your PC then leave this step.
Step 2- After driver Installation downloads your scatter file for your device, open it with notepad and search for the word “NVRAM”.
Step 3- Note down the values of “physical_start_addr:” and “partition_size:” (different devices have different values. For coolpad note 3; values are 0x380000 and 0x500000 respectively.
Step 4- Now download the SP flash tool and open that. select the scatter file and then click on Readback.
Step 5- After that click on Add and then double-click on the created file.
Step 6- chose a folder to save this and name the file NVRAM.img and click save.
Step 7- Then Fill in the values noted previously to “Start Address” and,” Length”.
Step 8- Click OK, then click “Read Back”, turn off your phone, and connect your mobile phone to the computer using a USB cable. Wait for the completion of the readback process, you will get an NVRAM. img file inside the folder selected above.
